BEEF records is very proud to present the latest offering by label heads Michal Ruzicka and Nick West, aka Shades of Gray. Shades are in top form of late with their recent EP Moog in the house reaching #6 on the Beatport tech house chart and #3 on decks.de vinyl sales chart. They have also received support from some of the biggest names in the business with great feedback from Laurent Garnier, Slam, Hernan Cattaneo, G Pal, Phonogenic, Nick Warren, Butch, Stephan Bodzin, John Digweed, Alex Kenji and others.
The Slightly Messy EP is a showcase of the diversity of the Shades sound – oscillating between pumping tech house, minimal and stripped back house music.
Warning: This package contains high quality material for everyone.

when did Shades get so darned FONKY? I head a new direction emerging here, and i like it a lot. Haus Musik will never die! ;) Something Deep Inside wins on all counts. SOLID.

Yves Eaux (Global DJ/producer)
excellent tracks! Slightly Messy is the one for me.
Hey BEEF steaks… The sound & production is very good. my all around favorite is …….. “Log Lady”….. the melodic pads remind me a lot of “GO” by Moby or the “Twin Peaks” theme track…….. while “Something deep inside” would probably move the dancefloor more & “Slightly Messy” a sharper dancefloor, not for the common ear, funny & bouncy …One Eyed Jack needs some more rhythm patterns or a second beat to add some mess to it….. good job
Da Lukas (Urbantorque, Frequenza)
yesss!!! Love so much this release, especially Lady Dog and Something Deep Inside!
love it full Support! Thank you for this
Oh my, you guys are on a roll these days. A four-tracker where I dig all 4 tracks is rare, let alone play all of them. Well, this is in that category. Hard to pick a favorite- title cut and “One Eyed Jack” are both very nice, and the “Log Lady” is gorgeous and haunting, a real stunner- but I’d say “Deep Inside” is the champ; can’t wait to play it out and watch the floor bounce. Nice work guys!
Feodor AllRight & Elena Mechta (AMDJS Radio Show)
